Complex systems often condense into remarkably small structures. A sequence of letters, a symbol, an abbreviation or formula can accumulate layers of historical, ideological or cultural meaning far beyond its visible form.

Just mental codes consists of a series of typographic works built from four-letter codes rendered in a pixel-based visual language. Each composition isolates a single term or abbreviation, enlarging it into a centered image structure. Detached from functional context, the codes shift between sign, pattern and surface.
The works draw on references from mythology, religion, philosophy, politics and digital culture without attempting to stabilize them into fixed narratives. Instead, the series focuses on the visual and structural compression of meaning: how belief systems, identities and collective abstractions can persist through minimal symbolic frameworks.

The pixel grid functions simultaneously as image system and reduction device.
Its modular logic introduces distance and standardization, while subtle variations in color, texture and scale maintain the physical presence of the works as objects.
The framed digital prints continue an ongoing investigation into symbolic compression, modular image systems and the relationship between digital aesthetics and collective memory.

The works 01 to 08 pay tribute to a few chosen belief systems – ranging from mythological, through religious and philosophical to political and post-modern. The works are framed digital prints with an transparent acrylic coating.
