My interest lies in perception and communication by experimenting within the field of Semiotics. On this artistic journey, I revolve around the question: When does a visual information perceives meaning and why?
I started my artistic research on the changing qualities of the perfect digital representation (a pixel) by transfering it into material form. This practice then transformed into the abstract color field painting by fully removing symbolic or narrative qualities. In this, I like to experiment with perception of and the psychic qualities of color and its presentation.
Currently, I extend my tool bag by integrating performance and installation to deepen my research of signs, symbols, gestures and rituals as a spiritual signage system – a way of expressing the inexpressible.
As a guiding principle for my work, I chose the epithet Mu as signature. I might slowly have an idea why.
